About the Game
What is Aptikube?
Aptikube is a cartesian-grid style puzzle game that challenges players to think spatially and strategically. Using "kubes" and "color essence", you must find clever ways to get colored kubes to their color-matching homes.
The core innovation is a unique color manipulation system where essence can be added, extracted, and combined in ways that create deeply satisfying "aha!" moments. Master the interactions between kubes, transporters, and wiring to solve increasingly complex puzzles.
The Challenge
Aptikube isn't just about solving puzzles—it's about understanding systems. The color essence mechanics create layers of complexity where a single action can have multiple downstream effects. You'll need to plan several moves ahead while keeping track of which colors are "inside" which kubes and how they'll interact.
The game features a no-retries leaderboard that tracks your genuine problem-solving ability. No undo buttons, no save scumming—just pure reasoning skills. This is for players who want to prove they can think through a problem from start to finish.
Community-Driven
Aptikube is built around its community. The integrated level editor lets you create and share your own puzzles, either privately with friends or published to the community browser for everyone to enjoy.
Whether you're designing fiendish brain-teasers or elegant logic puzzles, the tools are deep enough to express your creativity while remaining intuitive to use.
About the Developer
Modifried is the sole developer behind Aptikube. What started in 2015 as a collaborative project between two friends has evolved into a passion-driven solo development journey. While circumstances have changed, the original co-creator remains supportive of seeing the game completed and finding its audience.
After nearly a decade of on-and-off development, Aptikube is finally approaching a pivotal point where we can finally let some people get their hands on the game! The game targets Windows and Android, with the same source code compiled for both platforms.
Every mechanic, graphic, sound, and line of code was created by human hands since 2015.
